Newquay Coastguard Team are always happy to attend your school or group to give a talk and demonstrations. If you contact us via newquaycoastguard@gmail.com with your details we will be in touch with you to arrange the event.
There are many young people wanting to know what we do and how we operate.
Very few people have been with anyone that has made a 999 call so with the assistance usually of Falmouth Coastguard a simulated call can be made. This enables the audience/class to hear and learn the necessary information that they would have to give to the operator during a 999 call when calling the Coastguard.
We can also simulate a cliff recovery so they can see a few of the team working with the equipment that we have and what the cliff technicians need to take with them on a call out.
